If you believe that a business or an individual (such as your employer) is defrauding the government or exposing the public to risk, you may be able to stop them by filing a case under the False Claims Act. Individuals who bring these lawsuits are called qui tam relators or, more commonly, whistleblowers.
The federal and state governments offer protection and rewards to whistleblowers.
Who We Represent
Our California employment lawyers represent individuals who have independent knowledge (not already known by the government) that a company, person, or other entity may be defrauding taxpayers or exposing the public to risk in violation of the federal or California False Claims Act.
What We Do
We provide legal counsel and mediation, arbitration, and litigation services for whistleblower claims:
- Review your evidence to determine if you have a case (free and confidential)
- Prepare you for interviews, conferences, and hearings
- Investigate to determine what evidence might exist regarding your situation
- Perform discovery to determine the factual basis of your claim and identify supporting documents
- Appear with you at interviews, conferences, and hearings
- Negotiate a settlement, if appropriate
- File your case “under seal” to ensure your anonymity for as long as possible
If You Believe You Have a Case
Do not discuss your case with anyone, not even the government, until you contact an attorney with experience representing whistleblowers in False Claims Act cases. To be protected by law and successfully file a claim, the fraudulent conduct must not have been publicly disclosed before you file and you must be the “first to file” a False Claims Act suit for the offense you are reporting.
