Joseph Rose is an experienced California license board hearing attorney who handles professional licensing and disciplinary matters for a wide variety of licensed professionals, including paramedics, nurses, physicians, real estate brokers, real estate sales agents, licensed contractors and subcontractors.

We regularly appear before regulatory agencies such as the California Board of Registered Nursing, the Medical Board of California, the Contractors' State License Board and other state agencies.

Our firm has unique expertise in defending California paramedics from charges of misconduct or negligence by the State Emergency Medical Services Authority, local emergency medical agencies, and employers. Administrative trial lawyer Joseph Rose was a licensed California paramedic for many years and understands the situations that you face in the field.

If You Are Under Investigation

The ideal time to engage an attorney who has experience with California license board hearings is during the investigation phase. Our attorney can coach you through the investigation to ensure that you do not take actions that will later prove to be detrimental to your interests.

For example, as a licensee, you have a duty to cooperate with any investigation as a condition of your license status. If you choose not to cooperate fully, that failure will be an aggravating circumstance, even if the underlying case against you is weak. It is also common for licensees to be charged with dishonesty later in the proceedings because of something that was said during the investigation phase. If the original charges are later dismissed, that charge of dishonesty will still stand.

Contact an attorney at the law office of Rose Law Firm, P.C. early in the investigation phase for proper coaching and legal support to ensure your interests are served and your livelihood is not jeopardized.

We will engage in discovery to determine the factual basis of charges against you, to identify documents being used and to conduct a separate investigation to determine what evidence might exist regarding your situation.

If you have already been charged, we will still have an opportunity to negotiate for a settlement with the in-house or affiliated state attorney who is prosecuting the case. If the case does not settle, then the finding can be fought in an administrative hearing or appealed before and administrative law judge. Their decision is advisory to the licensing agency in making the final decision to rescind or allow you to retain your professional license.

Don’t face this critical time alone. Contact a labor law attorney who has experience with license board hearings. Our representation includes counseling clients, appearing with clients at investigatory interviews and, where necessary, representing them in administrative trials.
